FOR PHOTOGRAPHERS · ONE-TO-ONE COACHING

Wildlife photography coaching.

Spend time looking, get comfortable with your camera and understand the choices behind a photograph. Practical coaching shaped around your experience and what you want to learn.

Start where you are.

You might be moving beyond automatic settings, trying to keep up with a moving subject, or looking for another pair of eyes on your photographs. We can work on focus, exposure, available light and composition, then practise and review what changed.

Time to ask. Time to practise.

I bring a background in teaching and assessment alongside my photography and filmmaking. You don’t need to pretend you understand something: we can try another explanation, demonstrate it and work through it together.

One-to-one sessions and practical outings are arranged by enquiry. We agree your learning goals, a suitable location, duration and fee before booking. A focused half-day, a full day or a series of sessions can be discussed, with preparation and follow-up clearly defined.

An interest that goes beyond land.

My own wildlife photography includes time in Norway, Costa Rica and Mexico, as well as photographing seals in Cornwall. I’m also a qualified scuba diver and freediver, with experience using an underwater camera housing. That experience informs my photography; these coaching enquiries are not bookings for dive instruction.

Wildlife sets the pace.

Observation, patience and respect for the animal come first. No particular sighting or photograph is guaranteed. We choose an outing that suits your experience and the conditions, and discuss any access or activity requirements before agreeing it.

What would you like to work on?

Tell me about your camera, your experience and the subjects you enjoy photographing. We can decide whether a session together would be a good fit.
