EMMA & EWAN · LLANGOLLEN, NORTH WALES
Tyn Dŵr Hall wedding photography.
A country hall surrounded by green hills, a wedding full of feeling, and two dogs who absolutely belonged in the photographs. A few favourites from Emma and Ewan’s wedding preview.

A setting you can settle into.
Tyn Dŵr Hall sits in the Dee Valley near Llangollen, with woodland, lawns and a stream running through the grounds. I’ve photographed several weddings here, and the setting still gives me new ideas: a walk along the drive, a little time beside the water, or the two of you with the hall rising behind you.
With Emma and Ewan, we made room for that sense of place without losing the people. The lads walking together down the drive is a favourite of mine: a beautiful backdrop, but plenty of personality in the foreground.

The moments before “I do”.
Emma’s hug with her mum is one of the photographs I’d keep even if there were no grand building behind the day. Then there’s her smile coming down the aisle. Their indoor ceremony in the Ballroom shows another side of Tyn Dŵr Hall: close, warm and full of the people they wanted around them.

Of course the dogs were coming.
Emma wanted photographs with their dogs, so they were part of our plan from the beginning. We took them for a walk through the grounds with the two of them. Those green bow ties deserved their moment, too.
Planning a dog-friendly wedding at Tyn Dŵr Hall? The venue welcomes the couple’s dogs for the ceremony and photographs, with arrangements for their care afterwards and no overnight stay. Check the latest details with the team, then we can plan their photographs around them.

Window light, speeches and everything on their faces.
The Garden Room is a lovely change of pace. Its full-height windows bring the countryside into the room and let the light reach the tables. At this wedding I kept hearing guests talk about the views. I was watching the faces as well: Emma taking the microphone, the laughter around the room and the moment a tear needed wiping away.

A photograph she had in mind.
Emma had specifically wanted a photograph on the staircase. We made time for it and I lit the portrait to bring her into the glow of the chandeliers. Knowing that mattered to her changed what we planned for the evening. In their messages afterwards, Ewan told me it was Emma’s favourite.

WHEN THEY SAW THE PREVIEW
“The one where we are in the pergola with the lights is unreal!!”
Ewan · Emma & Ewan’s wedding at Tyn Dŵr Hall
As the light faded, the garden gave us something different again. A few minutes beneath the pergola lights, with the day still carrying on around them.

Then the evening finds its own rhythm.
A dip and a kiss on the dance floor; the lads gathered around the fire pit outside. I like having both in the story. Tyn Dŵr Hall gives people room to celebrate together and somewhere to step out for a quieter moment, with another opportunity for a creative photograph after dark.
