Girls That Mix. Girls that bring the party.

Good people, brilliant musicians and the sort of energy that brings a dance floor to life.

About May and her team.

I’ve worked with May and the girls on several shoots now, and they’re lovely people to have around. Bubbly, friendly and brilliant at what they do, they bring as much warmth to the room as they do talent.

When May heads onto the dance floor with her sax, you can feel the energy lift. With Miriam on percussion and the DJ bringing it all together, that feeling spreads through the guests. Girls That Mix is available for weddings, private parties and corporate celebrations, with different musicians and combinations to suit your plans.

What do you want the room to feel like?

An Ibiza-inspired evening, a packed dance floor or something more relaxed earlier in the day? Live music can change the atmosphere, from a gentle soundtrack while people chat to the moment everyone joins the party.

From a photography and film point of view, I love working with musicians like May and her team. They get right into the party, giving me the reactions, movement and atmosphere that make photographs feel alive—and help a film take you straight back to the energy of the night.

Keep the music flowing.

A DJ who knows the performers can make a real difference. They understand the live sets, read the crowd and keep the music flowing between them, so the energy carries on throughout the evening. Talk to May about the musicians and DJ you’ll be booking, and how they can work together for your celebration.

Four things to talk through.

When would you like live music?

A ceremony, drinks reception, wedding breakfast and evening party can each have a different energy. Think about where you’d love music in your day, from something gentle in the background to a live performance that gets everyone involved.

Which combination of performers suits us?

You don’t need to arrive with the line-up worked out. May can talk through the atmosphere you’d love, your guests and the moments you want to lift, then help you choose the combination of DJ, sax and percussion that fits your day. She can also explain the options and which performers are available for your date.

How will the music work with our venue?

The team have worked in all sorts of settings, from marquees and tipis in a field to stately homes. Put May in touch with your venue so they can work through the space, power, sound levels and timings together. For a celebration abroad, she can talk you through the travel arrangements too.

Can we shape the soundtrack?

Share the music you love, anything you'd rather leave out and how involved you'd like the musicians to be with your guests.

A glimpse of the energy.

A room full of music, colour and people enjoying the night. These are the moments I love bringing back in photographs.

The music. The light. The feeling.

I love photographing the point where everyone stops thinking about the camera and gets into the party. I like to stay late, well beyond the first dance, to capture that energy: the dance-floor antics, the big reactions and the moments you might otherwise miss. They’re all part of the story of your day.
