Peckforton Castle wedding photography.
A castle with real presence, and a wedding full of people and feeling. Here are a few of the ways I’ve photographed celebrations at Peckforton, from the sweeping drive to the dance floor.
Let the setting breathe.
Set in the Peckforton Hills near Tarporley, the red sandstone castle gives you an extraordinary backdrop. In the aerial photograph above, I love the contrast between the scale of the building and the two people walking below it. The curve of the drive leads you straight to them.
For your own photographs, we can plan a little time outside without turning the day into a long photo shoot. A short walk together can give you space to catch up, with simple direction when it helps. Drone photography depends on weather, permissions and safe conditions on the day.
The room, and everyone in it.
The stone arches and height of the ceremony space are part of the story. A wide photograph shows the setting and the people gathered around you; closer moments bring us back to what the day feels like. I look for both.
Then comes the celebration.
Confetti is one of those brief, wonderfully chaotic moments. The expressions matter more than everyone looking perfectly composed. This black-and-white frame keeps the attention on the couple and the celebration around them.
A different view of the first dance.
I enjoy looking for a perspective that shows something you might not see from the floor. Here, the view from above brings the couple, the room and the evening atmosphere into one photograph.

The same castle, another season.
This separate winter aerial shows the woodland and snow around the castle. Light, weather and the time of year all change what is possible, so I plan around your actual date rather than promise a particular sunset or scene.
