RACHEL & CHRIS · SPRING IN THE RIBBLE VALLEY
Mytton Fold wedding photography.
Pink blossom in the gardens, beautiful light indoors and a couple who wanted their day to feel natural. A few favourites from Rachel and Chris’s spring wedding at Mytton Fold.

Spring colour in the Ribble Valley.
Mytton Fold is a wedding venue and hotel in Langho, in Lancashire’s Ribble Valley. Its landscaped gardens, indoor and outdoor ceremony spaces and accommodation on site give couples plenty of ways to make the day their own.
From behind the camera, I love the variety here: space along the drive for the lads to relax together, pockets of colour in the gardens, and those beautiful windows inside. On Rachel and Chris’s day, the blossom was in full bloom. We made the most of it.

A little guidance. Still completely you.
Rachel and Chris weren’t looking for a day of posing. Before the ceremony, I kept their portraits simple, using the window light and a little gentle direction. Showing them how good they looked was part of helping them feel comfortable in front of the camera.
You don’t need to arrive knowing how to stand or what to do with your hands. We can keep things easy, make a few beautiful photographs and leave plenty of room for you to enjoy your wedding.

Then she saw her dad.
Rachel’s reaction when she saw her dad after getting ready is one of my favourites from this preview. His expression, her hand coming up to her face: a small moment before the ceremony, with so much in it.
Knowing who matters to you helps me watch for these moments. The photographs of your people deserve just as much care as the portraits.

Beautiful light for a big moment.
The large windows bring lovely natural light into Mytton Fold’s ceremony room. In Rachel and Chris’s photographs, the tall window, exposed stone and flowers frame the two of them as their guests celebrate around them.

The room gave us something different for their couple portraits, too. The aisle, chandeliers and light behind them bring a little drama, while keeping the focus on the two of them. It’s a beautiful setting for photographs indoors as well as a place to say your vows.

A walk beneath the blossom.
For this spring wedding, the pink blossom made a gorgeous backdrop. A walk through the gardens gave Rachel and Chris a little time together, and gave me the chance to photograph their connection with all that colour around them.
The gardens change with the seasons. Rather than chasing a fixed list of photographs, I look for the light and setting that work on your day, and help you make the most of them.

With the girls on the drive.
Out on the long drive, Rachel and her bridesmaids brought their own personality to the photographs. The green dresses, trees and distant hills make a lovely frame for the group, with plenty of space to get everyone together.

And then everyone was singing.
The singing waiters brought a different kind of energy to Rachel and Chris’s wedding. Arms in the air, guests singing together and the two of them right in the middle of it. These are the photographs that bring the noise and feeling of the room back.

Little details. Everyone together.
The flowers around the cake, the glow of the lights and the children joining Rachel and Chris on the dance floor. The room that held their ceremony had become somewhere to celebrate, with their favourite people around them.

One last burst of celebration.
Outside after dark, we made a champagne photograph to finish the story. A little carefully placed light catches the spray against the night, while their expressions do the rest. If you like the idea of something playful and dramatic, we can make room for it in your plans.
